Final days of the long and illustrious reign of Hideko, Giuseppe and Yoshi. Last night is 7/27 (don't worry, the new sushi chef is a twenty year vet and training alongside Yoshi as we speak). Thank you all for two plus decades of making Sushi Zone my favorite sushi spot in SF.

Okay this is a no frills type joint, but it's sushi quality makes up for it. The baked mussels blew me away--it's never something I'd normally order, but was highly recommended by a friend and boy was he righttttt. Fantastic appetizer. We got both types of Hawaiian rolls---I liked both with a slight preference for #1 over #2. Also grabbed some rolls with mango---I believe the spicy hamachi and mango salmon---also very good. I like that the flavors were a bit under-stated and not too over the top. Meaning, the sushi was quite simple---moreso than I'm used to--but I actually preferred it because the fish is fresh and of high quality. Overall, would grab sushi here again for sure.
